Back again...

Yup... It's about ten minutes since I've returned from ZV... I was on another otaku meeting, it was very nice... I got to know a celebrity of fanart, mesitka - she's very cute and nice person, I liked her a lot, and I was absolutely fascinated to see her drawing XD
Here's the "recipe" for onigiri - it's really only a riceball, so there's not much to it. It's all about how you cook the rice. I usually buy normal, classic rice and the key to cooking it is to rinse it properly. It's supposed to be washed until there's not that white stuff in the water, I believe it's some kind of rice starch, same as with potatoes??? Dunno. The water should be absolutely clear. At any cost, it takes LONG time, so I usually change the water 10-15 times and it's about enough.
The amount of water for cooking is twice the amount of rice. Let is settle down for about 20 minutes - I heard someone say "let rice befriend the water" XD Originally, there shouldn't be any salt added, but I usually use salt to add some flavor to the rice. Start cooking at the biggest flame, let the rice boil for a minute or two and then put the fire down to minimum. And let it be XD You can stir occasionally. When it's almost done, put out the fire and leave the pot covered. Feel free to put out the fire even when you think the rice is too sticky - when it cools down, it will dry a bit.
This way, rice should stay sticky/juicy and yummy XD When making riceballs, you have to let your rice cool down, and have water prepared to wet your hands. Somewhere on the net, I found out that in Japan (?) they don't use fresh water, but water with just a bit of sugar and vinegar. Not too much, just small amount of both. It's just to prevent rice from sticking to your hands, but it adds a BIT of flavor to the Onigiri XD
Then, mould the rice to look triangle-shaped.... if you want a normal instruction about how to do that, google it - there are some really good pictures and guides there.
Finally, add a piece of Nori seaweed, and then... enjoy XD
I hope you'll understand... sorry, but I'm not used to describing recipes in English, so it's probably kinda lame.... some words are killing me XD
